About Ohio Pride
Who We Are
Ohio Pride is a political action committee dedicated to building political power for LGBTQ+ equality across every corner of Ohio. We endorse pro-equality candidates regardless of party, mobilize voters, and fight anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in the Ohio Statehouse.
We exist because of a gap. When the Equality Ohio Campaign Fund disbanded in 2007, it left the state without a dedicated vehicle for turning grassroots energy into electoral power — even as anti-LGBTQ+ legislation surged. Ohio Pride is the first statewide LGBTQ+ political action committee built to close that gap.
Founded in 2026, Ohio Pride is a non-partisan political committee focused singularly on electing candidates who will protect and advance the rights of LGBTQ+ Ohioans and their families. We are funded entirely by grassroots supporters and community allies.

Everything Ohio Pride does comes back to four commitments — the framework that guides where we put our time, our money, and our voice.
We put real financial backing behind pro-equality candidates — the resources and infrastructure they need to compete and win, at every level of Ohio government.
Ohio already has strong advocacy groups educating and lobbying. We partner with that work and add what only a PAC can — power in elections. We aren't duplicating; we're evolving.
Our efforts are non-partisan and anchored in Ohio's own communities and voters. We're building a cultural shift rooted in empathy and compassion for all Ohioans — not just a chosen few.
We reject the idea that anyone's identity should be up for debate for political gain. As extremism rises, this moment demands clear leadership — and humanity has to come first.
Why We're Different
Ohio has strong LGBTQ+ advocacy groups, and national PACs that back LGBTQ+ candidates. Ohio Pride is different: a nonpartisan, state-level political action committee that endorses any pro-equality candidate — LGBTQ+ or ally — who shares our values. As a PAC, we complement that advocacy work with tools the nonprofit structure isn't built for:
Why We're Needed Now
The fight over LGBTQ+ rights has moved to the states. Most anti-LGBTQ+ bills now originate in state legislatures, not Congress — and Ohio is no exception. The 136th Ohio General Assembly has introduced a wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, from forced outing bills to restrictions on healthcare and drag performance, with roughly a dozen bills tracked in the current session alone. At the same time, 2026 is a historic election year with all five statewide executive offices on the ballot, a special U.S. Senate election, and critical statehouse races. That's where a state-level PAC makes the difference.
We evaluate and endorse pro-equality candidates at every level across Ohio — not just LGBTQ+ candidates, but every ally running.
Our public issue tracker monitors every anti-LGBTQ+ bill in the Ohio Statehouse with plain-language summaries and status updates.
Our public scorecard grades every Ohio legislator on floor votes, bill sponsorship, and public statements — so voters know exactly who's defending equality before they head to the polls.
